| OK apart from the obvious locations such as J Bay and quality breaks around Durban and Capetown, and then in the north to Moroocco, there isn't a huge amount known about surf here. What is known is that you need to be up for an adventure when heading to Africa looking for surf. Also remember - there is still huge unrest in some counties such as Angola and Somalia and maybe best not to just wander around in these area. It's a big country so obviously you need to allow loads of time to get around and search, as well as a medical kit (just in case ;-). In saying all of this - learning to surf in Africa would be a blast and there are some really good quality schools throughout some or the more popular locations - check out Morocco Surf Schools and surf schools in South Africa |
